Should I be starting DD's day with a milk feed

My DD is 7 and a half months. Until the last couple of weeks I breastfed her first thing but since introducing breakfast I am giving her that as soon as she wakes up. Her last milk feed of the day is around 7.30pm and she has her first bottle of the day around 10am. Should I be giving her a milk feed first thing or is it fine that she has her porridge? She no longer feeds during the night and is now fully on formula.

Milk is meant to be the primary food source until they're 12 months, so on that basis I'd give her a milk feed first as she's gone such a long stretch of sleep Envy btw Wink. However, if the porridge is made up with formula, then you kill 2 birds with one stone. On the other hand if you are both happy with the current arrangement then you could stick with it. Not really helped there have I?!

I am using the powders that you add water to and it says on the box that it contains milk.

So long as she is having a good amount of her baby milk then I doubt it makes much difference. Ds was bf but by that age he screamed at me if I tried to bf him first thing as he just wanted his breakfast! He still bf plenty durign teh rest of the day though.

My DD, also 7 1/2 months has a 7oz bottle first thing then cereal about 45 mins - 1 hour later. Lunch at 12 ish, another 7oz bottle at 2 ish, tea 4.30 - 5 ish then 7 oz bottle before bed. She also sleeps through 7-7. Hope that helps.

My dd, also 7.5 months has 8oz first thing, then porridge about 10am (porridge is made with formula), then lunch at 1 ish another 8oz bottle at 3 ish, followed by tea at 6pm, then 8oz bottle and bed at 8pm.

She sleeps right through 8pm - 8am, even more so that she has just gone into her own bedroom :)

Pretty much the same as splatt...

DD is 8 months and has between 240 and 360 ml of formula when she gets up followed by breakfast (cereal mixed with formula and fruit, or scrambled eggs and toast if I'm feeling energetic) about 30-40 minutes later after I've had a coffee and some cereal. I'm usually still half asleep and don't have the energy or the ability to aim straight to do "proper" breakfast first thing.

My DS is 10 months and has just stopped BF - he now has 7oz bottle on waking (at 5am!!!!), breakfast at 7am, lunch at 12pm, 7oz bottle around 1pm, tea at 5pm and another 7oz at bedtime.

He doesn't sleep through, but we don't night feed anymore Shock
