What are your thoughts on reducing the amount taken during milk feeds to encourage eating more solids, as recommended in Gina Ford's CLB Weaning book?

it depends on the age of the baby. I wouldnt really start reducing feeds until they get closer to 1 year and only if they were taking loads of milk.

Yep, what she said. I would tend to let the baby lead the way.

babies main source of food/nutrients etc should still be formula/breast til the first year, so they shouldnt really have a considerable drop in the amount they have. i know that some people (including my ex boss) associate milk with drinking rather than food when babies start weaning but it is still food and has all what they need in it. having said that, every baby is different.
