Ds has taken to solids, but cutting them back still means he is massively cutting out milk in favour of them.

A rough day

7am - few teaspoons of yogurt and museli (he will not eat milk first thing
9.30 - 30z milk
12-equivalent of third of a jar of food
4- 3 oz milk
6.30- third of a jar (homemade though)
8-3oz milk

so oz milk a day, and not much solids. He seems to know if there's milk in the food and reject it.

Has anyone else encountered this? He will eat more solids, up to 3/4 a jar but tried to reduce to see if he'd have a bit more milk. He's very ready for food, grabbing it and angry if he can't join in at the table.

Is he losing weight? Is the milk you're offering breast, formula or cow's?
How old is he?

Sorry, ages to get back.

He weighed 14lb 10oz on 24th November, then 14lb 7oz on 21st December. I'm a bit at my wits end tbh. He's on Neocate due to cow's milk/ soya allergies.

He's been wheezing and coughing which I think affected his feeding, the GP last week has prescribed him piriton daily. He's uped a bit to 15oz since, but dropped the morning solids.

Have you seen the ped dietician again Strawberrycake? What did she think?

Spoke to her on the phone, said to call back in the new year for an update. Feels like it's been a wait and see from when he was 6 weeks old. HAs started Neocate, fingers crossed it'll help.

If he's more interested in food, use the neocate where ever possible in his meals; make yoghurt & custard with it, white sauces for fish or pasta, rice puddings, that'll get extra ounces in him. Stinks when you heat it and have to feed it from an open pot, but smile sweetly and tell him he's a good boy! Their website has some brill recipes on it.
Mine has nutramigen, which I have use in batch cooking and have frozen/defrosted successfully, so guessing neocate will do the same. Just remember not to eat it yourself!
