Start using Mumsnet Premiumxbox one controller recommendations
(7 Posts)DS is thinking of replacing his xbox one controller with either the Elite one (Microsoft) or a Scuf Gaming premium controller.
Has anybody got one and what is so good about them please? Are others better/cheaper?
I've only ever bought the controllers from argos so am guessing they are all the original xbox ones. The expensive one that had an option for batteries broke within 6 months (two buttons stopped working). So I say just get a cheap one.
Only problem is, I feel I go through the wires almost as much as i would for the batteries either way.
I think controllers without inbuilt batteries are always gonna be a money pit no matter what brand.
DS got an Elite. It started drifting (not working properly) within two months and he wasn't even using it that much and he's very careful with controllers because he saved up to buy it himself. His friend also has one that broke. He's just got a less expensive one from Amazon.
Scuf is good my DP has had his for years. Very hardy served a fee great falls. He wouldn't use another controller now. Ive just got him a new one but it had to be a scuf.
@AstridAv which one did you get please?
I'm clueless, but team optic edition is the one I replaced it with. Got it off ebay in vgc as they're quite pricey. Still pricey on ebay but worth it for the length of time they last.
I've had the Elite One for a long time now and it's had no problems at all. I love it, it just feels right in the hands and it is very responsive. I couldn't go back to the standard controller now!
I've no knowledge of Scuff so can't say how it compares, but I definitely rate my Elite One.
