(14 Posts)Found this fun game that tests whether you can change a car tyre. No surprises, I didn't do very well:
canyouchangeatyre.tyresonthedrive.com/
Anyone else managed to complete it successfully?
I can't change a tyre, I can change a wheel though.
I was going to say just what c3pu said.
2 mins - treading carefully. I'd never be able to do it in real life though.
I did it. I've changed many a car wheel in my time, it was one of the things my dad made sure I could do when I bought my first car back in the day.
I’m a wheel wizard.
In reality I know exactly what to do but last time I needed to ended up having to call the AA because I couldn’t undo the nuts - but there again neither could the AA manually so the machine was needed to get it off
2 minutes 23. It was a bit annoying that they had the wheel nut thing in place sometimes then not at others... slightly annoyed that it was like ‘Oooh not bad, maybe leave it to our technicians though’ - rude
I can change a wheel in real life but I’ve never actually had to - both times I’ve had punctures a man in a tractor has come by just as I’ve been getting started and had leapt out to help, bless them! I know how it’s done though.
I’ve done it in real life - it’s on the list like changing bulbs - would rather do it myself than have to ask someone!
Can’t do the game though!
Took me 3 minutes but in reality I have none of the tools so I'd call someone

I could have been quicker tbh but I don't really understand the point of it. It tells you what to do. If it doesn't have clear instructions it would catch out those who know hand those who don't, but with step by step instructions it doesn't really gauge anything other than how fast your fingers move.
I have changed many a wheel - it's the wheel you change, not the tyre.
2:06.
Delayed because I was confused about where it wanted me to put the jack.
And also, that’s changing a wheel, not a tyre. Stupid game!
I didn't know you're supposed to loosen and tighten the nuts with the car on the ground. When I had to put the spare wheel on I jacked the car up first.
I struggle to open the bonnet, so I'm not even going to attempt to change a wheel/tyre.
i once had to try and do this in real life and only failed as I could not find the jackpoint... I was told never to use the jack, other than in the jack point.
turns out my car didn't have one...it was alllll jackable providing the bump along the bottom fitted in the corresponding crevice on the jack
I would have looked in the manual but the car was a teeny fiat with no actual glovebox, just shelves so the manual was safely tucked away at home. at self.
I had however got the spare wheel out, and loosened all the nuts on the flat one, so the AA guy was done within minutes.
