Age restrictions / PS Network

We’ve just upgraded from a PS3 to a PS4, and we’ve got a year subscription to PSN so that DS (11yo) can play online with friends. I’ve set myself up as family manager on the console and added DS to that. I’ve created a PSN account for me and him. But I used his actual date of birth in setting up his account - it looked like I could allow him access to older (12) games anyway through parental controls (he wants to play Overwatch online, which I’m happy with), but he’s being blocked by age restrictions when trying to play the game. Is the only way to play older rated games faking a date of birth?

This happened with my son I would make a new account with the age of whatever you want the age rating to be for the games he would want to play it's easy on Xbox but I'm not sure what to do with PS4 if you can't find it just let him use your account

I wouldn't let him use your account, that would give him the ability to bypass any parental controls? I would probably just turn his year of birth one year earlier by editing his profile?

Thanks both, it seems a bit daft if that’s the only way to do it, but if needs must.. I think I have to delete the existing profile and add a new one as you can’t change the date of birth.
