Draconius Go - Who's playing ?

GreenShadow · 08/11/2017 20:55

I thought it was about time we had a thread for those playing the new Draconius Go game.
It's been mentioned a few times on the Pokemon thread but rather than take that over, let's have our own shiny new thread.

I only started today after seeing so many positive recommendations online (including MN).

My initial thoughts are that it is MUCH better for those of us living in the countryside as Pillars of Abundance (what an awful title) are everywhere unlike Pokestops which I found very difficult to get to. There are also more Arenas (Gyms) plus the added interest of Libraries, Obelisks, Portals etc.

I'm not quite convinced by the creatures yet though but that's probably just because my DSs grew up with the original Pokemon and I was 'forced' to learn them all off by heart.

I've already managed to put a couple of creatures into arenas, both of which were empty and presumably had never been used yet.

So who else is playing ?

Me! I'm level 8 now, have got a couple in gyms and one in a library but not sure what to do with them yet. Highest CP is only about 122, and I am losing every wild fight. But so nice to have new creatures and different gameplay. I can play it same time as pogo using my pogo+. 😀

I'm already Level 7 (you forget how quickly you move up levels after being stuck on level 20 something on Pogo for so long) despite only starting this morning. I do have a long walk to work though so managed to bag a few creatures en-route. We also have a Pillar in our garden so should have no problem keeping stocked up with balls spheres.

I've not worked out Libraries either yet Loc and have also lost every wild fight.

I was amazed to see red arena in town, there must be more of us about!
I'm red, the game wouldn't give me an option of blue. Fine, just keep reminding myself it's not valour!

Hello! I am playing. I am level 12 now and am the second person that seems to be playing in our town. There's one solitary red gym and then all the ones that I have taken over are blue. I love that I get to stock up on coins before others start playing. I also love the wild attacks by creatures.

I don't yet know any of the creatures but DD does as she is obsessed with the game now. I do like all the colours and how pretty they are.

Thanks for the thread.

Really enjoying it, 3/4 of the way through level 16. I posted my first 10k hatch in the pogo thread but, oh well be rude not to...

I have a pillar in my back garden, can reach it from there or sometimes from my sofa if it drifts. I used a load of Google opinion rewards on coins so I've expanded my bag space and enchanted a nearby pillar to give only eggs.

The game runs much more smoothly than PoGo on my slightly rubbish phone, and it opens straight away without hanging for ages.

I'm in lots of gyms arenas but I don't understand libraries yet. Started a map treasure hunt thing. Never made it to the Mother of Dragons yet -seen her, but she's been inaccessible.

There's a subreddit r/Draconius which is quite helpful.

I completed a library stint and was allowed to change a move set on one dragon. I do not quite understand them though.

Horse, how did you cast a spell? There are so many things that I do not understand about this game and am too lazy to actually google.

Hi guys! Thought I would come and join you! Until they release gen3 Pokemongo has got boring so thought I would try this. Loving having shadows again and particularly pleased that I have a pillar of abundance in my house (although I would prefer if it were a pokestop!). Haven't actually played it outside the house yet so yet to work out arenas and libraries. Some of the creatures are cute though.

I don't understand the little crossed swords symbol in the top right corner. You can change the colour, but why would you? (I could google, I might later and let you know what I discover!)

I'm loving this at the moment, as a rural player I'm finding it much better- though the spawn rate seems low compared to Pokémon. I could catch about 10 Pokemon on the school run if I wanted, but today I only came across one creature.

The creatures are cool though! And there's loads to do. And as the only player in the village, at the moment I'm raking in the coins!

Horse, how did you cast a spell?

Hi Dillite, I gaven't cast any spells with runes and altars yet, but you can permanently enchant a pillar to give only eggs / balls / potions / treats... it costs 300 coins and the egg one is recommended as people say it gives a lot of 10K eggs when enchanted. Click on a pillar (one you can visit regularly) then click on the little menu thing on the bottom right. I've done a potion one now as well as I'm always low.

I don't understand the little crossed swords symbol in the top right corner. You can change the colour, but why would you?

Swords mean the creature is best at attacking, shield means it's a better defender. You can use the colours as a personal organising system, set up how you want. I use green for a creature that can be evolved on my next lucky egg (or whatever it is!), red for my good fighters / high value creatures, and yellow I don't use yet. Once the creature is assigned to a 'colour' it can't be deleted until you remove the colour - so it's like favouriting it. You should definitely assign a colour to your best creatures even if just to stop them being deleted by accident.

I've been for a walk and got up to L5. Beats being on L33 for 2.5 months! Grin

In the absence of much clue about what I'm doing, I'm going for the collect everything then work out what to do with stuff approach.

As a rough guide to which creatures are 'good', click on the pokedex bestiary - green creatures are common, blue are rarer (or stronger?), red are the most rare (or strong?). the higher numbers might also apply to rarity, or strength. So creatures numbered 120 - 125 are probably the business. I've only got 2 red creatures, Basilisk and Smoargh, both from eggs.

Of course a lesser creature can evolve into a big strong beast - keep at eye out for a sweet little purple cat called Cheshir, it evolves twice into a really powerful creature called Bagun. Even in it's first evolution it's a really good fighter, and when you power Cheshir up he rolls on his back and plays with his tail.

I’ve just downloaded it. Getting a bit bored with Pokemon Go at the moment although I’ll keep checking in with it and pick up again when Gen 3 launch. Thought this might be fun until then!

I’m so glad there’s a draconius go thread! I’m level 17 and really enjoying it. I haven’t got any really good creatures yet, my best is a 651 cp harpy. I have a basilisk, which I think is supposed to be good, but it’s only 218 cp. I have 2 pillars on the way to school, which is nice as there are no pokestops on that route! I’ve managed to enter a rift quite a few times. The first time I struck lucky and the mother of dragons was right next to it! Unfortunately, once my egg hatched it was only a dummyween! Other times there has either been no mod or she has been inaccessible. I got lucky today though and found her, she is currently cooking a 10 hour egg so I’m hoping for something better this time. I also like that 2 times when I’ve entered a rift, it has placed pillars right in my house. I stayed in the rift all day just stocking up on balls! I’m currently in 8 arenas. I was in 10 but got booted out when I entered silver league, level 15 I think?

Libraries don’t seem worth bothering about yet as I don’t have any good beasts yet. I haven’t cast any spells yet, I’m not quite sure how that works, but I’ve got lots of the runes. So far I’ve only spent 200 coins on a bag upgrade so I could stock up on balls.

Obelisks I’m finding quite annoying. There’s one really near my house but it’s inaccessible due to being behind a gated housing development. I managed to access a different obelisk and got a quest which is to catch 40 air element creatures. It’s taking blooming ages though as I hardly seem to see any. I’ve tried the golden egg hunt too but there’s no way I can get to 9 different obelisks! I managed 6 and could work out where it was but ran out of time before I could go there to use shovels. I’m currently waiting for my second hunt to time out as I can tell from the first square that 3 of the squares will be inaccessible due to being a river!

It was weird today. I decided to travel over to the town next to me to see if there was anything new there...except there was absolutely nothing! I mean no pillars, no arenas, no libraries, no obelisks, no creatures on nearby, just nothing! It didn’t make sense as this is in a highly populated part of London.

Sorry, that ended up being a much longer post than I intended!

Just downloaded this and went for a walk with DS. I got so bored of pokemon go after they changed the creatures to list the ones at pokestops.

I have a obelisk thingy in my garden and looking at the ones nearby, they're all ones in houses where there's a fair chance there's a player. Is that how it works?

Report
dillite · 09/11/2017 18:46

I am finding the location of obelisks and pillars quite random and not that well thought out- often they are inaccessible as they are on private land or in a middle of some field. There are loads along a train track, for example, but no way of accessing them as the train moves too fast.

We used a dragon's eye today- it was amazing! Seeing and catching all those creatures was great fun! I caught several new ones such as Kelpie, Airver, Flamy, Flowy, Gardrag, Parabeast, and Twigo.

I also got kicked out of a gym after being there for a week. I am guessing that's to stop people from gym hogging. The coin system is bizarre though- I have no idea how much you get for each day. I was in one gym and had 14 coins per day. Then I was in 4 and was getting 24. Now I am in 3 and am getting 14 again.

Oops, I got pillars and obelisks mixed up, it's pillars I'm seeing gardens.

Report
GreenShadow · 09/11/2017 20:10

The location of pillars, arenas etc appears to be completely random. Some are near roads some are in the middle of housing estates - no obvious logic. (Which suits me as a rural player with a pillar in the garden).

The number of coins you can receive does seem rather poor. Ten creatures in arenas to get the max daily total is rather a lot.

I thought you could collect from 25 arenas?

Managed my first successful golden egg hunt today! Only had three squares of the map, and I could tell that only about 5 out if 9 were going to be accessible unless I went tramping around the fields after dark, but I was lucky enough to find it on my 4th shovel. Golden egg hatched a 4 /4 Hydra.
