Anyone besides me impatient for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition?

Heck, anyone ever played BG besides me ( and DH) ?

Hm. I haven't much to say here, but I'm up for the idea of getting some game chat going, so because you're on active convos I'll bump.

I'm not very good at games like this, I haven't the patience, but Baldur's Gate was such a favourite for DH he was bringing his laptop to bed. There hasn't been a game since that has caused this. Do you think he would like the enhanced edition as a gift - what will be enhanced about it? I see that google suggests "Baldur's Gate iPad" as a search term - what might htat be all about?

He would probably like it. There will be new areas to explore, new music, a few new NPCs, new dialogue from old PCs with the same voice actors, and some new battles I think.

As to the iPad, I'm a 'droid person ( I made that up, it means I prefer androids to i anythings), but the idea is that you will be able to play the new BG on the iPad so you could play it on the train if you wanted.

It is supposed to be out this summer, but so far nothing.

Do you know about Steam or Good Old Games? They also might be good places to look for gaming gifts for your DH or to find games you like to play.

I've found my MN home! . I couldn't play Planescape. I can't play male characters hence why I loved Baldur's Gate. I played a female fighter.

Gosh - look at all those good old games on good old games!

I can really remember what was going on in my life while I was playing Magic Carpet. And that I never did beat the boss at the end of Magic Carpet 2.

DH and I had a lovely time when DD was a newborn and feeding all the time. We played Monkey Island and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.

And the reason I'm excited for BG is that I can't play any 3D type games because they literally make me nauseous. And all the other RPGs out now are 3D. BG is the only one I can play.

We played Monkey Island too! It was a PS3 download. I remember the effort that DH made to show me that my life wasn't actually over. We played Monkey Island, and the first DVD we watched all the way through was Anvil. I'll never forget it. It just seemed like the best film e-v-e-r.

The 3D RPGs do suit me better, less patience needed, I take a "just hit them with your stick" approach to "playing my role" - in truth I'm not an RPG natural at all. We did find that dd at around 18 months was hitting more stuff with sticks when Skyrim was on the telly and had to stop playing it during the day... Of course, we're lucky that we weren't all throwing up. Poor you.

Oh, and by the way - you wouldn't be able to play Magic Carpet AT ALL.

What ive brought a few games on android and the controls are always terrible a Bluetooth controller would do it though.

@ThunderPunt try googling Mike's Baldurs Gate site - it has walkthroughs and is really good.
