Dd3 has a CMPA and we have to go dairy free.

I’m finding it hard to find things for her As she wants what her dB and ds have. I think in the end we all will be going dairy free.

But things like biscuits, cheese and yogurts (her main vice!) I’m struggling with.

She loves oatly and we love the alpro yogurts but she isn’t sure about them.

Help please 😩

I’ve not found any yoghurt that’s particularly nice to be honest. You could try mixing the alpro ones you can buy with a purée pouch as it means there is at least some flavour to it.

Ginger nut biscuits are dairy free, as are some Oreos. Mr Kipling apple and blackcurrant pies are also dairy free.

Im no good with dairy free cheese though it all tastes plasticy to me.... that might be because it doesn’t seem to melt though

We've never found a yoghurt or cheese my son likes but we wonder if that's because when he was young there wasn't really anything to buy (he has to limit soya too). Biscuits are easy though, so is chocolate (unfortunately). Lots of own-brand biscuits are suitable (we are ok with may contain as he is lactose intolerant). We make cakes using pure margarine. Oatly foamable makes excellent Yorkshire puddings and we use it for all cooking that asks for milk.

Ocado do a yogurt called Sojade Organic Bifidus that I adore. You can pop in fruit purée/honey etc to sweeten it up. It’s genuinely lovely.

Cheese substitutes I’ve never found a decent one just to snack on. But No Moo Melty is delicious as a cheese sauce. I just warm it to melt it and thin it out with oat milk. It makes excellent cheesy pasta/broccoli cheese etc. Goes well on top of pizza/cheese on toast as well.

Flapjacks are easy to make with dairy free butter (Violife is the best one I’ve found) and feel like a treat. Tesco do a v good range of free from biscuits which I like.

Party rings and biscoff are also dairy free biscuit options. The tesco and asda own brand soya yoghurts are good, my DD prefers them to alpro! Again can't help on the cheese I'm afraid, it does tend to be plasticky and if we have it at all it tends to be cold in sandwiches as it just doesn't melt properly.

Can’t help with the other things, but nutritious yeast has quite a cheesy flavour & lots of b vitamins, you can sprinkle on/in things it might help some ‘not cheese’ seem more cheesy?

Awww my DS is dairy free, are you able to get referred to a dietician we found that really useful. But some ideas-
Alpro do a sugar free yoghurt which my son loves and I will purée some fruit (freeze them or buy packets)and mix them in to add flavour,
Make custard with soya milk and have as a treat, or you can buy dairy free custard.
Cheese is the worst one as the replacement just isn't the same but we found cheese on toast and homemade pizzas better (we just use pitta bread) cook the soya cheese (all brands tasted the same to me but we went with Asda) and it tastes better,
the soyamilk on with a giraffe on is the one for kids again my son loves it cos it's so sweet
Hope she gets used to it soon

I'm going to try the No Moo Melty @MustardScreams, I've never heard of that.

One small word of warning, I wish we had used being lactose intolerant as a way of cutting out sweet snacks instead of replacing them. Everyone feels like he is missing out on treats and gets him desserts, snacks etc.

Yes, the cheeses are terrible. DS dislikes all of them, though Daiya was grudgingly accepted as the best. That’s from Sainsbury’s.
Lovemore biscuits are dairy free and lovely. Expensive!
As for yoghurt, the expensive ones line Coconut Collective and Pudology seem to be the nicest. Koko also isn’t bad. We also use Alpro custard which is thick and tasty.

We get the free from kids yoghurts from Tesco. Both kids love them, DSs (very fussy with food) friend came over and ate 2 and said they were delicious.
How about the alpro desserts? Come in chocolate, caramel, coconut and vanilla flavours.
Most Bourbon biscuits are accidentally vegan, as are some hobnobs (the dark choc chip ones if remember correctly), digestives, Oreos etc.
If you search "accidently vegan" online should come up with quite a few stuff.
Tesco Italian hard cheese is really nice (I think) and Tesco or is it Sainsburys Hmm do a really nice soft cheese that tastes identical to non vegan soft cheese, lovely on a toasted bagel.

We go for the alpro custard over yoghurt, dd is okay with the Tesco's raspberry soya yoghurts but not much else.

If the diagnosis is recent she will still remember what the dairy version tastes like so not be happy with the alternative.
Cheese for example we struggled for ages until she couldn't remember what the real stuff tastes like

We have cmpa and avoid may contain as she reacts.
There was a study done and over 50% of may contained actually did contain.
Saying that my friend with a severe allergy eats may contain fine.

Koko strawberry yoghurts are lovely and so are the peach and passion fruit ones.

We were advised to avoid all soya products because an allergy to that is quite likely if baby has cma.

I am following with interest. My 2 year old DD has a suspected dairy allergy. She is being tested this month.

We have found to DD's delight that jam tarts are safe.

I would like more healthy suggestions though. As someone said up thread, everyone finds snacks and deserts. I just want to be able to feed her normally.

Asda do a very good dairy free cheddar that melts, slices grates, and tastes like cheese.

My dc like Nairn’s Astro bites www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/groceries/chocolate-biscuits-210843-44/nairns-gluten-free-choc-chip-astro-bites-mini-wholegrain-oat-biscuits-23g

Try flavoured mini rice cakes as an alternative to biscuits. Rich Tea and pink water biscuits are also dairy free.

Most supermarkets sell dairy free chocolate buttons. Sainsbury’s do both milk and white varieties.

There’s a great app called foodmaestro where you input what you can’t have, and then either you can search by categories for things you’re able to eat, or if you’re in a shop you can just scan the barcodes on the packet and it’ll tell you if it’s safe to eat

Pasta doesn't contain milk.
Lactose free isn't suitable as it will still contain cows milk protein @Ricekrispie22
