Hi folks I am looking for some advice. I'm a vegetarian and thinking of going vegan. I've only ever managed 4 months as a vegan in the past - main reason for giving up being time! Wondered if any vegans out there cd give me tips on best places to buy vegan food on the go etc. Thanks.

Supermarkets are getting so much better! To be honest I do prefer some of the foods that I make myself so happy to give recipes if you’d like.

Pret A Manger is a favourite! What do you typically eat on the go now? I must say for you to try Waitrose vegan ravioli it’s a must have for me.

Not the ravioli is food in the go grin

Sainsbury is good for vegan things, I find.

Greggs are starting a vegan sausage roll and M and S have a small selection.

Sainsbury's is the best, getting more new stuff all the time as well

Waitrose does a huge range. Lots on offer right now too (I went today). I'm veggie but don't eat rags if I can help it so is great.

@BF888 I normally eat a salad (prepared the night before) on the good and a fruit/nut bar. I found a vegan sandwich in m&s today and thought hhmmmm this cd be easier now.

For lunch time options Co-op is really good - there's a pasta salad, a greens/grains salad, sandwich and a wrap - occasionally a choice of all 4 , but always at least one.

Most supermarkets will do either a bean salad or cous cous salad on the shelf by the coleslaw etc

Quick microwave options Tesco and Sainsbury's do Bol veg pots and Tesco do their own make of ready meals - but not available in Tesco Express.

Wetherspoon's do a vegan curry, a vegan bean chilli, a roast veg and hummus wrap, a vegan noodle dish and vegan cooked breakfast.

Pizza Express do a vegan pizza and I think there's a vegan option in Nando's.

There are quite s few biscuits / sweet snacks which are 'accidentally vegan' (check ingredients) .

Thank you @Applesaregreenandred

My ds was vegan for a while. Theres a website called "accidentally" vegan which lists loads of stuff suitable for vegans to eat. Ds was very pleased to find that Oreos are vegan!

Haven’t seen anyone say- boots and Tesco do vegan sandwiches and sushi.

The coop food magazine you get free this month had a page called something like ‘surprisingly vegan’ - various products listed but I can only remember their jam donuts were on there. Look out if you have a local one though.

Custard doughnuts from coop too 😊

Dd's fallback option when travelling is houmous/guacamole and baguette.

Tbh I find supermarkets are as good a place as any these days. Then top up at your local health food store then go online with Holland Barrett/amazon for anything else.

I tried the co-op jam doughnuts the other day and wasn't impressed.

Marks and Spencer's Plant Kitchen range!
It's brilliant. Stuff like snack pots of falafel and hummus, sandwiches, wraps, etc.
Most supermarkets have a lot more choice than they used to as well so have a look round next time you're in them.
