What does your toddler eat?

We are veggie but DD is dairy free and I don’t like giving her quorn. I am concerned that she does not have a balanced diet and she is becoming fussy. What do your children like to eat?

We're not veggie but don't eat much meat. Dd has dairy allergy and won't eat eggs. We eat:

Alpro yoghurts
Crumpets
Vitalite spread
Nut butters
Fruit
Breadsticks
Organix brand snacks (some are df)
Dried fruit
Toast
Hummus
Falafel
Veg sticks
Pasta and sauce
risotto
Lentil bolognaise
Jacket potato and baked beans
Home made cakes

That sort of thing! Smile

Thanks DD will eat most of them but not hummus! I have not attempted to cook a risotto as she is clingy at dinner time and I think it would be tricky one handed.

I cook risotto in the instant pot. Bung it all in and press start. It's a life changer!

And if she's eating all that that seems fairly balanced to me.. I don't know.. what's missing?

I just wanted more variety in our meals as I am getting bored of having the same old stuff.

My 3yo likes

Lentil shepherd's pie

Mushroom pearl barley risotto (if you do risotto with pearl barley instead of risotto rice, you don't have to stand there and stir it constantly)

Linda McCartney sausages, mash & peas

Gram flour pancake with Violife cheese and mushrooms

Pasta, peas & pesto

Noodles with toppings (beansprouts / grated carrot / mushrooms / sugar snap peas / tofu to help herself from)

Scrambled tofu on toast

Vegan fish fingers and chips

Home made pizza

Vegetable fried rice

Holland & Barrett fishless cakes with broccoli & peas

That sounds like quite a variety but I'm also getting a bit bored of the same things all the time, I'm going to experiment with new things and see what happens.

My older DD doesn’t like big chunks of meat or melted cheese so is vegan accidentally a lot of the time. The worry is those b vitamins and protein so it’s all about the beans and the nuts in our house.

She eats

Bean chilli (without actual chilli powder)
Chickpea and vegetable curry bns, peppers, carrots etc
Bought bean burgers, but they’re spicy
Stir fry with toasted sesame seeds and cashew nuts

Peanut butter with apple dipped in as a snack

Nuts on the side of her lunch

Thanks. I have tried apple with peanut dipping sauce. She eats the peanut butter with her fingers!

I have noticed that pine nuts come out whole so I am not sure how well other nuts will be chewed.

She is great at taking her multi vatmins.
