Oxford Self Catering

My husband and some friends are doing a charity event in Oxford in August and we want to stay 1 night afterwards, 3 families including 5 children.

Any suggestions?

Ideally somewhere near the river with separate bedrooms and a sitting room for the evening ???

Most self catering requires us to take the whole week, which is expensive for 1 night and most hotels don't have the ability to have an apartment style room.

You could consider the youth hostel, it's in the town centre and you could get 3x family rooms. The possible downside is that the (communal) sitting rooms will be away from the bedrooms.

kingfisher barn, abingdon might be worth a try and see if they ahve a vacant night.

This place is an aparthotel place. It's not right by the river (about 30 seconds walk from a particularly urban bit of the river), it's a short walk from the station, and don't be fooled by the pictures, it's not as glamorous a location as it makes out! However, the location is very very central and the apartments are very nice though corporate inside, or they were a few years ago.
