HELP! Christmas holiday in UK with a toddler and no car!

Hi all

Hoping for some help in deciding where to go on holiday. After a horrible year of stress and bereavements, OH and I have decided to go away somewhere for Xmas week with our little one.

We don't have a car so it needs to be public transport-able from Leeds.

We were thinking a park holiday, and have found two we kind of like the look of, the Hoseasons holiday at Ribby Hall nr Blackpool bit.ly/1BeYAe, or Butlins at Skeggy bit.ly/4togZo

Thinking that Butlins might have a bit more to do for our nearly 3yo daughter and have more xmas fun activities, but then Blackpool is easier to travel to on the train.... Butlins is a good £150 cheaper for the week, but also worried it might be aimed at people with slightly older kids than ours and might be a bit more 'rowdy' iykwim

Can anyone help us to decide? Anyone been to either place for Xmas and recommend we go for/avoid? Anyone been to both and would recommend one over the other? Anyone got other places in the north they've been to for xmas and would highly recommend?

Thanks

Claire

Didn't want your post to go unanswered Rosy, I have friends who love Ribby Hall and although I have no experience of Butlins I'm sure any 3yr old would love it. We considered Alton Towers hotel and Centreparcs. I hope you have a better year in 2010.
