cottages in northumberland

hi,
looking for a cottage for a short break early summer, for 3 adults and 1 child (we like to take my exboyfriend on holiday with us, he's a favourite, but he'd rather not share a room with a toddler, so preferably 3 rooms!) in Northumberland, nearish the beach.we need it to be cheap, so cottages4u are out of the question, just got their brochure and its loads more than i'd pay!!
anyone any suggestions?
ideally, seaside on doorstep, chickens out back, far from anywhere, 4 poster bed, free champagne in fridge...but we prepared to compromise for cost!

what's your budget? Is early summer June then? Try www.northumbria-cottages.co.uk...(31st May-28th June is defined as mid season..after that it becomes high)...I've got their brochure..obviously the further away from beach, the cheaper. Alnmouth is lovely but not sure how cheap at that time. Beadnell too has a grreat beach..Lower Newton may be like what you're after..there's loads of places..Northumberland is beautiful..but then i'm biased cause it's where I live
