Hi all,
Parents are visiting for two weeks from overseas... We have booked a converted barn-type place near Stratford-upon-Avon for 3 nights as we would love to show my parents the area... I posted a thread about this a few months ago now. However, we are in SE London and it is a long way to drive to SuA so we are thinking of breaking the drive up and stopping off at Oxford for the day (and night). There will be 4 adults and 1 baby (DS will be 14 months then). Having a bit of difficulty finding a place for 1 night (10 April) as it is smack bang on easter weekend (can't change the other booking for 11-14 April as it was the only thing available we could find that would fit all our requirements and have paid the money for it). Also, don't want a B&B or hotel (unless there is connecting rooms) as DS would go to bed at 7pm and we wouldn't want to sit in the dark from that time... At least if there are connecting family rooms, we can sit and watch TV in the other room with parents while having the baby monitor (which we are bring with us) on. But ideally would love a serviced apartment so we could cook our own dinner etc.
Does anyone have any recommendations or any other alternative we have not thought about? (Any MNetter living in Oxford fancy opening their doors for us? ) Have tried two serviced apartments in Oxford that are fully booked out. Will be willing to consider a two-night stay (some places have the min 2 nights stay policy for easter) if the right place and availability can be found! The other option would be to stay in Oxford on either end of the stay so we can break the drive up on the way back as well (and we have plans to do Oxford University and Bicester Village). Many thanks!
