I know why it is so cheap... because they have had to shut lots of the facilities because of the sewage backing up. However your not bothered by using them its a great deal and a lovely area!

we have booked a 2 bed villa for a week in the the summer hols having read good reviews on Mumsnet in the past. Am a bit worried reading this thread. What is the sewage problem and which facilities are out of action. I hope there will be a pool we can use.

Would love to hear more about the villas and area from anyone who has been.

We stayed there for a few days last Easter and really enjoyed it - lovely location right on the cliff and lovely walks all around. There was an indoor pool with jacuzzi etc and I think they were about to build an outdoor pool at the time - so that may be completed now. I thought it was very good value - although I the restaurant on site was very pricey, but there were lots of other places to eat locally and a shop over the road which sold all the essentials including fresh bread, croissants etc. Have fun! Polzeath is very close and has a fantastic beach with several stalls hiring out wetsuits etc

Thanks Rian ..that is all very reassuring. Did you stay in a 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom villa? We have booked a 3 bed as are going in peak season...have a feeling there will be no view from the 2 bed but as long as it is nice inside I'm sure it will be ok and a good base for exploring the north coast.

We were in a 2 bed (2 children) the bedrooms were downstairs with a kitchen and open plan living/dining area upstairs (with balcony I think). I don't remember there being much of a view from the actual villa, but you only had to walk a few yards to get great views of the sea and coast
