We have decided to go away for DS1s birthday in March and DH has always gone on about his holidays as a kid in Woolacombe so we are going there for a week, but is there much about if it's wet/cold? Thankyou

I was there in July and there were carousels which my 4 yr old loved. Orchestras playing on the seafront, charicature portrait artists, lovely trinkety or local craft tourist shops, fabulous icecream... fish and chips, lovely harbour ...

BUT.......... not sure I would go in March.

we stopped at woolacoombe sands holiday park in sept last year, it was lovely in the summer, we went out every day.

we went to barnstaple, ilfracoombe, watermouth castle is quite good for kids.

not sure if i would go in march though might be bit chilly and not sure if watermouth castle is open then.

If you have wetsuits and boards it's a good time for surfing. And nice beach for beachcombing. Lovely walks on Exmoor. But Woolacombe itself as a town isn't that thrilling. If you have a cottage with open fires it will be nice but don't expect bright lights and excitement
