Im especially interested in the ones where you book direct with the owner.
We have used Hoseasons without any problems.
we have used castles and cottages before.have heard that welcome cottages are reasonable but have never used them myself.
Our cottage is on with Powells or you could try owners direct, I've booked several holidays with them.
have booked with seaside cottages before, they link you with the owner and you pay them direct. paid £400 last august for 3 bedroom cottage in devon for week.
i always book through cottages4you. you dont speak to the owner direct, but you do get ten percent off through mumsnet
We used these people a few years ago and they were very good and reasonable (especially out of season). Only South West though.
