wordsworth hotel... grasmere

dh has got a conference at this hotel for a weekend... and i'm going along (to be the wife!)... and dropping the kids off at my mums... soooo....

i'll be all by myself with two days to spare... there's an indoor pool so i can go for a leisurely swim... but anymore ideas? where are the best little shops? best place for a coffee? best place to watch the world go by with nothing but a good book and a paper? where is a lovely place for food? best things to do basically (without children or a husband!!!!)

go to the Wordsworth trust (Dove Cottage at Town End) and have coffee and cake

Go to the Lion and the Lamb inn for sticky toffee pudding in Grasmere

Go to the Gingerbread Shop right near the church for the gingerbread - tis yum!

Go to Keswick for quaint town, Kendal for proper shopping, Ambleside with the kids to go on a cruise over Lake Windermere
