My wonderful mother has offered to have DS for 4 days next month whilst my boyfriend and I go for a little break somewhere (UK only).

Any recommendations/suggestions? I am thinking something cheap and cheerful?

Anyone?

Any idea of area?

City break or country?

And how cheap is cheap?

Glasgow for shopping, and Edinburgh for the festival.

What sort of place do you think of as cheap and cheerful? I quite like Scarborough - not sure as a couply destination though. Love York.

I'd always head for Cornwall.

Around Loch Lomond is great too. Beautiful countryside, lovely pubs and restaurants and close enough to Glasgow for shopping/nightlife if you like that

We're up for travelling anywhere in the UK. We want something nice that isn't too expensive. Along the lines of the Lake District but we went there just before DS was born so somewhere a bit different.

Pembrokeshire. Wild rugged coastline, fab beaches, quaint little shops, castles and away from the crowds. Great food too.
