Thinking of stopping a couple of nights on our way home from a holiday in the lakes this summer (probably Buxton). We will have teens in tow. Thinking Eyam, Mam Tor, caves (not sure which), Heights of Abraham. Any suggestions?
Thanks Smile

Heights of Abraham is fantastic, would definitely recommend.

Also Ilam Park (National Trust), Bakewell, the area around Wirksworth, Haddon Hall (if open), Bakewell town, Tissington trail, Chatsworth House. So many choices, it’s lovely there.

Bike hire along the Tissington Trail? Go Ape at Buxton? Our teens both really enjoyed those x

tissiington trail is the old railway line isnt it? We really enjoyed walking along that so agree bike hire would be a good option. And heights of abraham - even my husband enjoyed that and he hates walking

The Bulls Head in Ashford-in-the-Water is a lovely wee pub for food and drink. Quite cosy so you’d need to book. The village is also absolutely gorgeous for a walk around.

We loved Speedwell Cavern where you take an underground boat ride - not for the claustrophobic! speedwellcavern.co.uk/journey-by-boat/
