We'd like to go to Northumberland-area - cover a distance from Alnwick to Beamish for days out.
Can anyone recommend some family friendly accommodation that doesn't cost an arm and a leg please?

We've rented from this company who have a good range of properties. Can't promise they'll be cheap though, and i suspect prices might go up this year due to demand with everyone staying in the UK.

A static caravan might be your cheapest option?

Great - thanks! I'll investigate them and go from there 🙂

We stayed with this company at Felmoor Park. www.hemeraholidays.com/
As a PP said not sure how cheap they’ll be but I loved our stay there!

I highly recommend staying in warkworth! It’s beautiful, has a castle , brilliant riverside walks etc, near the fishing village of amble it’s in a great location, I’m biased though I grew up there Grin

We haven't used them but have always heard good things about Coquet Cottages.

My neighbours have stayed at Beacon Hill Farm and loved it. Location-wise it is centrally placed for visiting loads of places in Northumberland. I know that part of Northumberland quite well as DH is from the area. If you do manage to go it is worth joining the National Trust if places are open as there are loads of National Trust properties in the area.

Lots of people stay along the coast but have you considered hexham / corbridge area? Very pretty, plenty of good pubs and restaurants and close to the wall. Lots of good air bnbs.

Hexham is lovely. We had a holiday in a lodge at Slaley Hall one year, but it is a long way from a lot of interesting places to visit in Northumberland, and we did end up doing a lot of driving that year.

We stayed in Amble booked via Northumbria cottages last summer and it was great.
Close enough to the Farne isles etc but also to attractions further south. Warkworth was close by and also looked lovely.

Did you manage to eat a scotch pie from the butchers on the main street @MsAnnFrope?

They are the best. The little retail pods down by the harbour are lovely for a mooch around as well.

Ooh not @RampantIvy but I’ll be going back! Love the shops by the harbour, the fish market, the fish and chip place by the boats...
Pretty much I just love the Northumberland coast and amble was perfect to stay.
