Newcastle - restaurant suggestions

We are off to Newcastle for a night with our 3 boys (17,16 and 12) in a few weeks. Staying at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead. Can anyone recommend a lovely restaurant nearby, maybe with outdoor dining? We don't mind walking 10-15 minutes to get to it. Thanks.

Pitcher and Piano or Gusto if you definitely want to stay close to the Hilton. The Botanist if you don’t mind going more central.

Trakol is near by, you’d need to book
The Broad Chare is within walking distance
House of Tides if you want to splash out
Six on top of the Baltic with good views of the river
There are the usual chains in the Centre of town
The Stand comedy club does nice food
St Sushi for Japanese
The Cookhouse in the Ouseburn is lovely and affordable
The Kiln and The Brinkburn Brewery, Ernest, are also in the Ouseburn and do good food.
Peace and Loaf in Jesmond and Patricia near by are more pricey options.
Riley’s fish shack for dining round a fire pit on the beach in Tynemouth, to u can get there on the metro and would need to book
Kimchi Planet does great food too
Ury on the quayside for great southern Indian food and Dosa Kitchen in Jesmond
Dabbawal also does great Indian food in the center of town and Fat Hippo is near by for burgers

www.lolajeans.co.uk/ Enjoyed this a few weeks ago and our boys loved the burgers. Korean tacos were lovely.

The Slug and lettuce on the quayside is lovely, has great views and a really good menu the kids will like.
The stack as PP said is great as is The botanist, both about a ten min walk.

The stack looks great but will only let us in until 8 with kids which is a shame. Do any you've recommended have outdoor dining? It will chuck it down now I've mentioned that.

I know a lot of paces don’t allow under 18s in after a certain time anyway. We have family meet ups with young children and teens and have been always asked to vacate by 8 as a lot of city centre eateries are also bars. The exception was Portofinos on Grey Street an Italian restaurant, always had really good food. portofinonewcastle.co.uk/ I would shortlist a few you like the look of then give them a call to see what their policy is.

Pop on the metro to Tynemouth, great food on the beach. Deck chairs a wind break and fire pit. You will love it. rileysfishshack.com/

I had a look at Riley's shack as it sounds right up my street (except in torrential rain) but couldn't find the menu, was on my phone and the options were tiny. Not sure the boys would want fish though, me and DH would. I'll have to do a girls trip there another time. Love all these recommendations, thanks everyone.,

Don’t forget that all restaurants will not be closed by 10.

Sorry that doesn't have outdoor seating.
You may have more luck for outside seating in Jesmond. There are some not far from the fat hippo but I can't think of the street sorry!
