Cornwall Road Trip with teens - any must do's?

I have never been to Cornwall before and am planning to take the DC for a 5 day trip at the start of the Easter hols. We'll drive down on 3rd April and thought it would be easier to just drive around staying at hotels as we go instead of a central base as that looks like it would involve more driving TBH. DH used to spend summers in Newquay so would like to go there but apart from that we have no idea! We're coming from Surrey so not a ridiculous drive. Any tips and suggestions would be appreciated as I'd like to prebook hotels soon so need to figure out a vague route :) Thanks Flowers

Hire bikes and cycle the Camel Trail. This is a really great day out. We normally take the route from Wadebridge to Padstow and hire bikes from Bridge Bike Hire. You can stop off for a break along the way at the various small coves and admire the view. We normally stop half way at the quarry for a picnic lunch. When you get to Padstow you can get locally made icecream and sit around the harbour.
We also take the dc to the Retallack Resort near Padstow and have a go on the Flow Rider surf machine. It’s amazing how you can feel like you are surfing without being in the sea! There is also a new Aqua Park whichI am keen to try which has inflatable slides, climbing walls and a giant trampoline.
Adrenaline Quarry has an aqua park, but it also has all sorts of other activities including a giant swing, zip wire, karting, axe throwing, coasteering, wild swimming and more.
You can play football golf in St Austell at Cornwall Football Golfand in Newquay atNewquay Football Golf. It really seems to be popular in Cornwall and my dc really like it.
There are a number of places that offer Kite Buggying, but as beaches go, Watergate Bay near Newquay is hard to beat.

In the school holidays I would advise not to wing it with hotels but book in advance. IMHO better to have a sort of a plan than spend valuable holiday time searching for somewhere to stay and then ending up in the hotels that everyone else rejected!
