ISLE of WIGHT: I need to get from Yarmouth to Ventnor - how do I do it? (Without a car)

Bus No 7 from Yarmouth to Newport then Bus 3 to Ventnor.

Just got back from a gorgeous week on the IOW, when you sail into Yarmouth you will find yourself facing a main road which goes inland to Newport or round the western side of the island via Freshwater down to Ventnor, loads of buses displaying Ventnor...would probably take 40minutes to an hour. We love Ventnor, if you've not been before can reccomend lunch at the Spyglass overlooking the bay...

Thanks everyone. I've actually been to Yarmouth loads of times as my BiL has a house there (he's the rich one..) & Ventnor a few times, but always en famille, with the car. This time I'm going on my own for a friend's 50th birthday, staying at the Wellington Hotel. I have to leave the car with DH in case he wants to take the DSs anywhere.
Soooo Lulurose: yes I can now picture the bus station, & Ladymuck: is there not a direct bus? Would a taxi cost an arm & a leg?

(ggirl: wouldn't you just know it? my helicopter is booked in for a service that very weekend...)
