Longleat Safari Park question!

Are there lockers in the park for storing a picnic? I can't find any info on it on their website. Any other longleat tips?

I went last year and I don't remember seeing any lockers, but they weren't something I looked for.

My tip would be to book your place on the tour bus as soon as you arrive (assuming you don't want to take your car round, which means you either miss the monkeys or get your car trashed) and then plan the rest of your day around that. The air-conditioning on the bus isn't great so take plenty of water.

The boat trip is a good way to cool off and when we went, the queues weren't too horrendous.

The photo books are fun, but very expensive for what you get, and they have an 'exit through the gift shop' approach to selling them - so if going with children, manage their expectations accordingly.

We had a great day all in all - hope you enjoy your visit.

My car hasn't been trashed by the monkeys. Maybe they were in a particularly restrained mood!

I would do the walking exhibits which are GREAT in the morning and the safari in the afternoon as much smaller queues that way.

Seconded re the boat trip- I love it.

You were lucky re. the monkeys, Namechange! When we went round in the bus, we could see them trying to pull bits off people's cars and hanging off aerials.

I went with my parents about 20 years ago and my dad naively took his car through - the monkeys pulled off the wiper blades and also managed to pull out and run off with the pipe for the screen wash. My dad's horrified face was quite something to behold!

Definitely no lockers. It's close to us, we go a fair bit. You can take back to the car obv once done. My fav picnic spot is by the boat, go over the little bridge and then under the trees. Beautifully quiet and lovely view of the lake etc.

My car probably isn't worth trashing Grin

I have been a lot of times. I don't think I have an arial so that might help. Less purchase.

They are so cute though!

DH removed as much as he could from our car before going into monkey enclosure. They still managed to muck up our wipers a bit (was fixable). Don't underestimate.

The monkeys didn't touch our car thankfully (we prepared by removing the aerial and wipers!)

The monkeys have never messed up a car I'm in; weirdly! No lockers though, you'd have to carry a picnic or go back to the car for it if you want one.

The monkeys cost us about 500 quid! We thought we had got through unscathed as they left the wiper blades alone... but they had damaged a seal on the roof. The damage was only about an inch long but they had to replace the whole bloody thing. 😡
