New Forest Holiday

Tashalburrows · 30/07/2019 21:50

I've just booked a holiday to Nee Forest for myself and my 11 dd. She's really active and loves doing outdoors stuff and she also wants to go horse riding while we are there.

Any ideas for things to do in and around Lyndhurst or surrounding area.

Thanks xx

Definitely go to Mudeford it is an absolute favourite, you can crab, go across in the ferry to Hengistbury Head, swim, fly a kite and over the summer there can be quite a few fun days.

Cycling, horse riding, kayaking (Beaulieu River or Mudeford) and archery are all good ones to do in the forest. Going for a walk and reading maps are also fun.

There are all sorts of animals loose in the forest and lots of different trees and plants so if she is interested photographing and identifying as many different ones as possible with bonus points for the babies can be good. You may be able to get her onto a volunteer day too. Again only if nature is her thing. (As a kid I would only have been interested in horses and sport, but my sister would have been the other way round).

Take a fly repellent too.

Go to the deer viewing point (this doesn't take long, but is worth it if you haven't seen deer loose in the forest).

Paultons park is nice if she likes theme parks.
