We’re keen to go to London for a few nights as have never been.

Can anyone advise which of the Premier Inns are well placed for all the usual sights please.

Is Hackney quite central?

Or can anyone suggest any other hotels that won’t break the bank for two adults and two kids.

County Hall is the obvious choice.
The one at Stratford is adjacent to the Westfield shopping centre & QE Olympic park. Only 10 mins on the overground to St Pancreas.

County Hall or Waterloo (just a minute is walk from County Hall) if you want to be near the London Eye and the Southbank.

Holborn (dual site at top of Drury Lane) very handy for theatreland.

Leicester Square is bang in the middle and handy for Covent Garden.

Euston and Kings Cross not in tourist spots but right on the tube network so easy to get anywhere.

Avoid the 'hub' branded sites, tiny rooms with no windows.

Hackney is more towards the east on London, not ideal for your purposes.

We’ve found that Kensington is a great compromise between price (cheaper than the more central ones) & accessibility (right next to Earls Court tube on the Victoria Line.

We always stay at the Leicester Square premier inn. Means you can walk to most destinations and loads of restaurants for the evening on the door step.

The Leicester Square Premier Inn is fantastic, we stayed there when we went to see the Harry Potter play. Triple glazed so no noise from the square. It is of course one of the most expensive as well, which is inevitable for its location.

I usually stay at the one at Blackfriars - handy for St Paul's, the Millennium Footbridge, Shakespeare's Globe and not too far away is the Tower of London and HMS Belfast.

Slightly further East and thus cheaper is the Premier Inn at Tower Hill. As the name suggests, very close to the Tower of London.

The Southwark one is nice, just behind the Tate on the Southbank. Not as expensive as County Hall where I’ve also stayed. The new one in Borough high street near Borough Market has some great prices compared to other ones a while ago, maybe as it’s newer they are attracting people by price. Only one I’ve not been mad about was the Leicester Square one as seemed a bit dated and expensive , but good location though.

What attractions do you want to see? And will you want to walk everywhere or happy with tube?

I've stayed at the Covent Garden Travelodge a few times.
