Does Blakeney have a beach?

I booked a holiday in Blakeney ages ago. At the time I was in the midst of a breakdown (this is relevant!)
I've just checked it and it's a good job I did because its Saturday to Saturday and I thought it was Friday to Friday!
But I'm panicking as I was sure I read it has a beach and now I can't find anything!
Any help would be much appreciated

It does have sand, but it’s mainly a port area. There are loads of great proper digging beaches nearby though. If you’re going over half term, i’d Book the seal trips as they can get quite booked up, blackeney is good for crabbing.

Wells next the sea has a fabulous beach and is the next place up the coast. You also have holkham not far away

Wells is about 15-20 mins away and is wonderful. My favourite beach in Norfolk. Really good parking as well and a lovely pine wood walk to get to the beach. Put everything is backpacks or easy to carry things as it is a bit of a walk. Worth it though!

I agree with pp Wells beach is beautiful, you can park at the caravan park end and walk via the dunes to the beach, there is a little train that runs from the carpark into Wells town for fish and chips later.

The seal trips from Blakeney are great too, well worth booking on.

I remember walking across the salt marshes to a beach at Stiffkey which was nice too.

There's also parking near Holkham Hall with a nice woodland walk to the beach.

Take a windbreak, its always breezy

Blakeney is such a beautiful place, you haven't messed up at all.

It used to be one of my favorite seaside places to visit when I was growing up in landlocked Cambridgeshire.

There are so many wonderful beaches nearby, you won't be disappointed.

I'd love to visit more often now but living as I do now on the south coast, it's a hell of a drive these days.

Wells is a fantastic place, lovely huge sandy beach, with masses of colourful beach huts, pinewoods to play in, lovely little high street, also great crabbing on the harbour front (with fish and chips). Check if you might be there at Carnival Week - loads of activities for children.

The Coast Hopper bus takes you to lots of places along the coast.

As well as the Harbour railway from Wells Harbour out to the caravan park/beach end, there is also a steam railway that goes to Walsingham.

You could also spend a day at Holkham Hall - adventure playground, bikes to hire to ride round the huge deer park, the house to visit, boat trips on the Lake. Holkham beach is huge and sandy too - final scene of Shakespeare in Love (I think) was filmed there.

Its a great area for a holiday!

Blakeney has muddy creeks which children play in at low tide and get filthy! Some of the holiday cottages have outdoor showers to deal with this.

This was one of our childhood holidays and i have fantastic memories of it.

Crab fishing at blakeney, buying dressed crab from the stalls,ice cream from the little shops.

A day in Halt with scones and cream
Beaches and amusement arcades in Sheringham and Hunstanton
There was a really good fruit farm in Sheringham too for strawberry picking.

We went on one of the seal trips at Blakeney recently. It was absolutely great, highly recommended (but very cold even on a sunny day - take extra layers). There are so many lovely beaches on that stretch of coast you'll be spoilt for choice.

Dunn Cow in Salthouse has lovely views and food
For a day off the beach Sherringham is great. Make sure you hunt out Fat Teds street foor, it's next to one of the arcades, there will prob be a queue but the food is fab.
Any as everyone has said the seal trip is a winner, make sure you book

I love Blakeney. Its proper seaside, great atmosphere. Fantastic fun for kids playing in the mud! And crabbing and brilliant food at the blakeney hotel.
I would much rather stay in Blakeney than Wells. You did good OP!
