York for a long weekend

Planning on going to York with DH and DD (17 months) for a long weekend. We live just outside London so plan on getting the train there and back. Anyone got any recommendations for child friendly places to stay and things to do?

The Grange is probably the most family friendly www.grangehotel.co.uk/the-grange/family-friendly
The Park Inn has high chairs, a children’s menu, travel cots and large family rooms. www.parkinn.co.uk/hotel-york/family
The Novotel is also good. Bedrooms are spacious and there’s a bar and terrace where you can have a drink overlooking the river. The swimming pool makes this a particularly good option for kids. They provide cots, there’s a kids menu and babysitting is available on request.
With a toddler, I’d definitely recommend the National Railway Museum. There’s an under 5s play area and the mini railway is mesmerising.
The DIG archaeology museum is worth a visit. There are 3 pits to dig in, and the sand and mud is fake so dc won’t get dirty. There is an Under 5’s play area upstairs.
York Castle museum has lots of fun things to do with a carousel, teddy trail and pay area.
Askham Bryan Wildlife and Conservation Park is a small wildlife park at Askham Bryan College. Outside the park there are monkeys, meerkats and a Wetlands Zone where you can go pond dipping. The indoor Wildlife of the World section is good if it rains. There is an onsite café and small playground.
