Short break with teens

I know I'm asking a very broad question but we are fairly new to the UK so I'm looking for some help!

We have to leave our rented property in London for about 5 days as the landlord is shutting off the water for repairs. So we thought we might take a short break in the UK as we will be paying for accommodation anyway (early April so it won't be warm!). We have 2 teens with the boredom thresholds of toddlers - they don't mind a castle visit and they love theme parks/zip lining etc (not so much long walks).

Any suggestions, ideally within about a 3 hour drive of London?

So early april is going to be at the start of school Easter holidays which means it will be harder to find short breaks and also places will be more expensive. Have a look at a city break - Cardiff, Birmingham York bath Bristol etc would be a really good start. if not have a look at alton towers hotel, staying on site. there is a water park there as well as the theme park and it will be busy over easter so a couple of days in there will be good.

Thanks for the quick replies! Unfortunately we are locked in to school holidays so I know it will be busy.

What’s your budget?

Absolutechaos · 15/02/2019 17:23

Budget would be around £200-£250 per night, self catering. Obviously if we can get it cheaper then that's better!

Have you looked at Liverpool - easy in the train lots to do and much of it free
Or Birmingham - you can do dragon manor and Alton towers they also have the snow dome

Ooh - Birmingham might get the surly teen thumbs up

I’ve just checked and you could get a week at Warmwell for your budget in the first week of the Easter holidays. It’s within three hours of London and definitely teen friendly - it’s got a roller rink, bike hire, dry ski slope, archery, indoor pool with flume and crazy golf course.
