1 nite in Chipping Campden next August - ouch!

Just found out date for wedding next year - middle of August (but our kids’ schools are back because were up in Scotland) So it’s fly down late Friday, stay with relatives then travel to Chipping Campden Sat morn for lunch time wedding, stay the night somewhere in vicinity of CC and then fly back Sunday.

Can we find anywhere to stay on the Saturday?? Nah!! Either places are fully booked or Airbnb type places require a 2 night minimum or are booked or are eye wateringly expensive - but mostly just full!! We’ve tried B&Bs, hotels self- catering etc. It’s crazy! I’m wondering if places are just hedging their bets knowing they’ll sell their accommodation anyway nearer the time for longer stays. We also need 1 family room or 2 rooms because it’s us and our two kids who will be 14 and 11. Anyone know anywhere good that might be available or throw a few names at me that I might not have tried. Ideally don’t want to spend more than £150. I’ve only ever visited the Cotswolds when I lived nearby so haven’t had to stay there.

Hotels.com brings up a few within 10 or 15 miles for sat mid August put in search criteria 2adult2kids.
Try bookings.com as well.

they are showing as booked because they are as its an incredibly popular place to stay. I would get a Travelodge or similar within an hours drive if I were you as you will get one night then but does mean someone staying sober and driving.

If you are going to drive anyway, I'd stay at the Premier Inn at Evesham tbh. August around CC is expensive tbh, but once off the edge of the Cotswolds it calms down

Thanks. Yes it's an amazingly popular place isn't it. Have been looking on Bookings.com and some local B&B sites.

I'll look and see where nearest budget hotel is. We won't be driving so it will need to be a taxi. Most of the guests are from that part of the world anyway so won't need accommodation. I would love to stay there though because we can have a bit of a mooch about on the Sunday and I want to get my money's worth after flying down from Glasgow.

Have you tried the pubs? The rooms at the Ebrington arms are vv nice (only pub I know over that way) and quite a few places have rooms though you would need to phone each place

ThanksCMOTdibbler you made me look at pubs again and this time I used Hotel.com and Trivago and found another similar establishment to the one you mentioned and we’ve booked! Had to have 2 separate rooms but came to a total of £280 inc. breakfast which seems quite reasonable in Cotswoldian terms!!
