Few days in London near Christmas - reasonable prices hotel recommendations? Travelodge?

Heading to London for a few nights before Christmas with my teen Dd. Hoping to go to a show, do some shopping and general touristy Christmassy things.

Hoping for recommendations of a hotel that is decent and reasonably priced, fairly central/near a tube line I've been looking at travelodges but there are loads in London and not sure if any would be better than others.

I know accommodation isn't going to be cheap but would rather keep the budget for spending 😄.

Also if there are any must do/sees that we should do plead let me know! Smile

Try the Holiday Inn Express (free breakfast) in Victoria.

Or check hotel rates on the interactive map at //www.londontown.com

I always prefer to stay near the Gloucester Rd tube station in Kensington (fab location, 3 tube lines, buses, the museums, Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park) but the hotels may be a little higher in price, although there may be some budget hotels on the Cromwell Road nearby (however I do prefer to stay in the ‘chain’ hotels).

I’ve booked the new Premier Inn Southwark- Borough High Street for a few days before Christmas and the prices are great. If you’re prepared to pay the non refundable rate it’s £35 for some Sunday nights. Handy for London Bridge station and tube too.

Are you arriving by train, what station will you arrive at.

I stay at the newly upgraded Travelodge in Waterloo, it's really cheap at Christmas and central to buses and tubes. Nearby there is A Christmas Carol on at the old Vic, the Southbank centre winter wonderland, skating at Somerset house, carols at St Martin's in the Fields, the Christmas tree at Trafalgar square.

Have a loon at the Premier Inn at Putney Bridge. It's often cheaper as it's a bit further out but it's right on the district line with 3-4 buses to central London.
Plenty of reasonably priced restaurants just over Putney Bridge too

Premier Inn near the train station you’re arriving in can be a good base (family room, WiFi & breakfast.)
