Where to go over Easter in UK?

For days out or to stay? And if it's to stay, what kind of accommodation and where abouts in the country are you?

What's your budget and what does he like?
One of the best holidays I had with DC when they were that age was at Romney Sands. Very basic (also very cheap) holiday camp but so much to do round there. A miniature steam train chugs through the caravan site. It takes you in one direction to an old fashioned seaside town with a fairground, donkey rides, a 1950s ice cream parlour and in the other direction to a lighthouse near the nuclear plant (which small boys like) which also has a 1950s style cafe.
There's in and outdoor pools at the camp site, a play park, a lake to fish in and wander round (which also has some massive concrete radars left over from WWII spying if he likes that sort of thing.) There's great fish and chips nearby and across the road from the camp, the biggest sandy beach I've ever seen, guaranteed to find space to build sandcastles.
If you are driving, try Cornwall. A holiday cottage in Looe or Wadebridge. Coast nearby, Camel trail if he rides a bike or trike or likes to ride in a carriage behind you (bike hire everywhere) Monkey World to visit.

We are having the exact same issue....went to Shropshire in summer and it was fab so would recommend that, nearby to Ironbridge, loads to do with a 5 yr old BUT i have a feeling in April it might still be freezing. I really don't know where to go / what to do either as outdoor activity is not that appealing when it's 0 degrees out there!

Family of four - UK break at Easter - want to go somewhere new - too much choice - mind boggled - would love any ideas!

Thinking hotel rather self catering as sooo fed up of domesticity; maybe a city break but also like to be close to the coast.

Any inspiration?

We're off to the South Devon coast in 10 days' time. The forecast is not looking good - rain and temperatures sticking to single figures - I'm packing layers & rain gear since we need to get out of the too small holiday let to get some regular breathing space. Can you tell that I'm looking forward to it?

Have a look at potters resort, we went last October and loved it so are going back at Easter.
It's not cheap but the price includes all activities and it's full board ( lovely food )

Isle of Wight is great. So far the weather forecast for Easter isn't looking great though. Maybe something that has lots to do inside?

Darwin forest in the Peak District is nice, indoor activity options a nearby to various places (gullivers world, chatsworth house, tram museum, heights of Abraham), better for younger kids than older perhaps due to the on site stuff.

Why not experience the beautiful Roseland peninsula. In fact more specifically why not stay at our lovely child friendly lodge in Portscatho nr St Mawes.
