fine dining in North Wales

WE are looking for great restaurants in North Wales that could be good for over the New Year holidays -lunch and diner - preferably ones that can take well behaved children - we have a vegetarian in the family - but love well cooked meat too!

Also I remember going to a sort of green theme park once around there- any ideas? Or did I dream it? - Also any ideas of what to do - that is family based - kids are girls 7 and 4 - we know about the Panto at Llandudno and Snowdon railway .....and Conway castle ....and Festiniog railway ....what else is there - I know there are some very foodie type places but cant work out from Trip Adviser - which are the best?

So the restaurants that consistently get mentioned for more upmarket dining are: The Seahorse (Seafood) in Llandudno, The Bull in Beaumaris, and Nikki Ips (Upmarket Chinese) in Deganwy Llandudno. Haven't actually been to them myself, we tend to go to the nice cafes for lunch (of which there are many, so for lunch I would recommend The Lodge in Dinorwic, Caban (Organic and really good veggie food) in Brynrefail, and Siabod Café (not much to look at from outside but food is great, particularly the cakes) in Capel Curig.

Stuff for the kids to do....
If the weather is crap then definitely look at Crazy climb at the Beacon climbing wall - Caernarfon.
Colwyn Bay Zoo - not the most extensive zoo ever, but a lot less busy and cheaper than other bigger zoos, and the Snow Leopards are great!!

As for the Green theme park, could it be Greenwood Forest Park?

Sosban, Dylan's, Freckled Angel in Menai Bridge, Bull or the Midland in Beaumaris. All very good- sosban has a Michelin star, but a long waiting list.

Dylan's in Menai Bridge is great for food and atmosphere.

You will never get a table at Sosban. Fully booked months in advance.

Kids will love soft play in Caernarfon called Hwylfan. Black Boy in Caernarfon is a great place for food. 5mins walk from the soft play.

I second Dylan's in menai bridge it's very nice.
Not fine dining but romeos in Llandudno is nice. Lovely Italian food and friendly service. The cottage loaf is nice too.
