Do I need an awning for a holiday caravan?

We are going to Dorset for a week next summer but I need to book the hire caravan very soon. The one firm we were going to go with have not got any awnings. We had really hoped to get one but this is a good firm. Of course there are other firms which I am going to look into but before I splash out the extra £100+ on hiring an awning, can you experienced caravaneers tell me how important it is to have one (or not). Have never stayed in a caravan before so need to get this holiday right.

Been on loads of caravan holidays, both as a kid with caravanning parents, and also in caravans as an adult!
Awnings are nice in that they essentially add extra space (essentially an extra room) with somewhere to sit out with a drink or whatever, but they're really, really not needed or worth a hundred pounds etc!
The caravan itself will be adequate but if you want to splash out on an awning it's up to you.
