Like Salcombe but in Norfolk

We have recently had a family holiday in Salcombe and absolutely loved it. The crabbing, kayaking, fishing, walking into town, cream teas, tennis, golf, the beaches, coffee shops with gorgeous views on the marina etc etc

Trouble is, the journey is just that but too long for us to make it viable for a long weekend.

So we are now looking at Norfolk.

Can anyone make any suggestions please for where we might try for our first long weekend in Norfolk, with perhaps a view to buying a property?

TIA

If you definitely want crabbing, try Cromer!

There are many places also go that stretch of the North Norfolk coast would meet most of your requirements, so going and looking might well be your best bet (as well as most fun)

Wells next the Sea, Holcombe, Cromer or Southwold if you can stretch to Suffolk.

Wells next to the sea and Southwold are both amazing.

Ah fond memories of holidays in Salcombe as a kid. Must take the dcs there when money allows. Obviously the landscaoe is very different in Norfolk but West Runton has a lovely beach, beautiful cottages, cliffs, rockpooling, a beachside cafe with icecreams, couple of nice shops and pub, nice country walks and best of all: Hillside Animal Sanctuary - which is just lovely, and the place my dcs ask to return to time and again. Only minus point is the rather busy coast road going straight through the village.

Yes Wells is gorgeous, great for crabbing. Next to holkham beach. Good spot for exploring the rest of north Norfolk too. Been there a few times and will definitely be going back.
Cromer is good for robbing, but prefer to stay nearby in overstrand which has nice quiet beach and village feel whilst still being v close to Cromer

Aldeburgh or Southwold. Although both are in Suffolk. Wells next the Sea is great, but much more real life than Salcombe.
