Holiday cottage near off road cycle paths

We're looking for a holiday cottage next to/near off road cycle paths, in the North of England, or Scotland.

Last year had fab holiday at one of the Forest holidays sites, and one of the best things about it was it was right next to a really long cycle path so it was great for family cycling. However, have decided Forest holiday lodges, although lovely, are extortionately priced, and now looking for an alternative for October holiday. Any suggestions?

The trans Pennine trail would be a good start to look for ideas.

We are just back from Aviemore - We stayed in an AirBnB house so it was really cheap and there was a cycle path literally at the end of the street which linked to the orbital route around Aviemore and the Speyside way. Also plenty of other outdoor activities in the local area.

Thanks, great suggestions, will definitely look into both ideas in future.

This time have managed to find a cottage v close to the off road section of route 7, between Callander and Killin, so that should hopefully give us enough cycling for a day or 2.

The holiday lodges at Trawsfynydd in North Wales are great - much more cheap/cheerful and individual than Forest holidays, but right by Coed Y Brenin and plenty of other cycling possibilities. There are two agencies, Logcabinswales and Cadair View Lodge (who we use), that let them.

How about the Peak District, bakewell area? Monsal trail, high peak trail, Tissington trail.

Or the new forest? Stop in brockenhurst or lyndhurst and you could cycle out your door into the forest.
