Looking to take my 3 year old and 5 month old with husband for a holiday in the next two weeks. Done Isle of wight and cornwall so somewhere new. We probably wont have great weather at this time of year so need somewhere with things to do. Was looking at Tenby but I can't find a decent cottage. I want a modern or at least no flowery sofas and wall paper. Any help would be great

you need to holiday before May half term which starts on the 27th May. if you try and go in this week it will be mega expensive and really difficult to find anywhere to stay. have you ever visited SE Cornwall the bit around Looe and near Plymouth? we used to go here a lot when ours were little. when we did we stayed HERE they have a swimming pool and farm animals.

if not have a look at Portmadog area that is really nice or Southwold for sort of gentle seaside type place.

I would pick an area first then go onto something like lastminute-cottages or next6weeks websites and see what there is.

What about Devon? The Salcombe area is lovely.

Swanage is meant to be really nice, or Lyme Regis?

We just got back from Snowdonia. Loved it - really beautiful and lots to see and do.

the weather can be bad or good anywhere in the uk its just pot luck really. we always try and choose places where there is plenty going on indoors and out. if you go to Looe then you have quite a few farm park type places and the monkey sanctuary nearby plus Plymouth with the huge aquarium. if you go to N wales then there is the centre for alternative technology which our kids always enjoyed. the castles, the rabbit farm near criccieth and there is a huge indoor play centre.
