Looking for things to do in Bath with an 11 and 15 year old, apart from the Roman Baths which is already on our list. Also interested in places to eat.

There's a really cute vintage tea room - Bea's I think? - up near the fashion museum which is fun. 40s/50s decor and a lovely (not rationed!) tea. Or of course tea at the pump rooms if you fancy something grander.

Mine enjoyed the costume museum and the mini golf.

Grillstock is ace, if you have a pair of carnivores. I second the Fashion museum - you can try on samples!

Do you like walking? The Bath skyline walk is very good - about 6 miles.

Victoria Park is great for a sit down and is near the must-see Royal Crescent. The Jane Austen museum is just up from Queen's Square and is very interesting. Leave plenty of time for retail therapy as well; Bath is a great shopping destination!

Bath usually has a festival of some sort or other on (we've just had a Lit Fest...Comedy Fest is fast approaching...then there is the Music Fest and Fringe in May). Look on the website //www.visitbath.co.uk for ideas of what is on (or Bathmums.co.uk closer to the time).

There is a fairly new attraction called Bathescape that might amuse (or frustrate) you www.bathescape.co.uk/#=

Bath has a much smaller "Boris bike" hire scheme. If the weather is nice, cycle out along the Kennet & Avon canal to Bathampton or through the Two Tunnels. There is also a Victorian boating station in Bathwick where you can hire rowboats or punts.

What do your children like doing? What sort of food? I think there are now more pizza places than mobile phone shops and nail bars!

We like the porter, cosy club and graze for food.

Theatre?
