Our 2 year old wakes each night at approx 2pm. He sits/stands and cries, calling mumma or dadda until one of us goes in. As soon as one of us goes in he lies himself down and goes back to sleep as long as we are sat in the chair next to him!
He will then usually wake again and cry at 5-6am and at this point we normally bring him into our bed. He's very restless in our bed, flinging limbs out etc, which means we get an interrupted night's sleep too.
I'm aware that what we're doing is habit-forming and that he's seeking our company but we should try and stop it - it's just difficult to in the early hours and we find ourselves caving in for an easier life.
Just curious if anyone has been through this and has any suggestions on what we could or should be doing. He really was an excellent sleeper in his first year, sleeping most nights 7pm - 7am but the last month or so has regressed.
It's worth me pointing out he doesn't have music or any other cues to try and send him to sleep and we leave the landing light on for him all night.
