I am from the North east originally but fancy exploring more of gods own country this summer. Have looked at Haggerston castle but might prefer less commercial caravan park or holiday cottage. Even a hotel? Maybe around sea houses? Recommendations please

Springhill farm in Seahouses has some holiday cottages, we've only camped there but it's a lovely site and the cottages look very pretty. 15 minutes walk to the beach and ten minutes drive into Seahouses.

We love it there, loads for the kids to do and I adore the beaches!

Have a look at thewarehouseakeld.co.uk/ - it is absolutely beautiful, just outside of Wooler - close to Alnwick etc. :)

The warehouse is fully booked-boo. Spring hill farm looks lively but we would like to be able to walk to pubs/restaurants in the evening.

Look at Coquet cottages website, all high quality, luxury cottages. Brilliant customer service too (so far anyway)

We've booked to stay in one in August and they helped me decide which cottage was best based on our large party size and other things we wanted.

the old workers cottages in bamburgh are great - opposite castle and within walking distance of the village (short drive from seahouses)

Coquet cottages and coastal retreats are brilliant. Never had a bad cottage, real attention to detail and little touches.

Cresswell Towers is a nice holiday park, and not as busy or crazy as some of the other ones. It's in a great location right on the coast near Druridge Bay. It is a Park Resorts site and you can usually get some decent deals from their website or by booking with a caravan owner. Some info on the park itself can be found at: www.lowcostcaravans.com/cresswell-towers/g.5
