Broadstairs - Rainy Weather suggestions please!

Hello all,

We are spending a week in Broadstairs in Viking Bay area in late August and, if the weather is lovely, will obviously be spending every day on the beach.

However.... if it is typical British weather, we need a wet weather plan. Can you help? the only thing I know about nearby (ish) is Howlett's. We have a very active 3 1/2 year old boy and an increasingly mobile and opinionated 18 month old girl. Hanging out in shopping malls, giant soft plays, or leisure centres/water parks etc would be just the ticket, but I don't know the area at all.

Sunny weather suggestions for days when we might need a break from the beach would also be appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Rx

Quex Park, Margate - soft play, also a great outdoor playground (with horses in the neighbouring field) for breaks in the rain!

Shell Grotto, Margate - have a Google, definitely worth a visit

Turner Gallery, Margate - there's an exhibition at the moment with giant cymbals, children can use them once an hour. The gallery quite often holds workshops for families too.

Captain Digby, Broadstairs - family pub overlooking the beach, with a great indoor soft play area and an outdoors playground... and great food for a reasonable price.

Tides, Deal - swimming pool with slides etc, more like a mini water park.

Howletts - you already know about this. Buy an annual pass for £10 more than a day ticket and you could go twice in the week.

Wildwood, Herne Bay - a 'mini zoo' with bears and unusual animals, fantastic play facilities for children.

Felderland Farm - a pick your own farm, to pick Strawberries and Cherries etc. Very reasonably priced and lots of fun.

Have a lovely holiday.
