Advice on a crib for up to a year old baby

Hi all
This is my first post.

We have a small flat and very tight with space so the baby will be sleeping with us for at least a year, until we convert the loft.

So for now we cannot get a proper cot. What kind of crib can we get that will accommodate a baby up to a year old?

Thanks

I intend to get a cheap Ikea for for our bedroom as space is tight too.

Kiddicare do space saving cots which are smaller. Cribs are usually tiny and wouldn't fit a baby until a year.

we had a compact ikea cot which lasted til child climbed out around two from the lowest position - get one which you can raise/lower the mattress bit so it works for a new born in raised position then you lower it down as child grows and starts rolling etc .

what sort of size (length) would i need to get to last for up to a year old? thanks for the advice on not getting a crib as it will be too small though, i never thought of that :)

Cestlavielife - which one did you get from Ikea do you remember? or have a link?

have you had a look at Wadlin baby collection on Amazon? They do quite a nice co-sleeping crib on wheels.

It does not tend to be the length they grow out of on a crib, it is the width.Smile

You need a space saver cot or to temporarily move some furniture to hall/living room.Smile

I have this space saver cot from Saplings - that should cope up to 1 year? DS was in it until 8m, when we moved him to his own room in a cotbed - now using it for DD but she is only 7 weeks. We originally bought it as we had a small bedroom and this was the only one that would fit, that was bigger than crib size.
