Hi going to a concert on the 17th with my dh and ds, concert starts at 7.30pm but would like a light meal before somewhere near that a teen would like. Any recommendations please?

There's a Carluccio's near south ken station?

Muriel's kitchen is nice but very small (same location)

For dim sum with great park views, go to www.minjiang.co.uk/ Best to book.

I second minjiang, it is excellent Chinese food and amazing views.

Doesn't the Albert Hall have its own restaurants any more?

Yes - they do:

Thanks everyone, I had just looked at the RAH menus, will steer clear! The Chinese looks lovely but rather pricey.

The Gore at 190 Queen's Gate, beautiful restaurant and cocktail bar in hotel with good pre theatre menu.
Extra tip - book parking in advance at imperial college, five minutes walk and only £10 for the night. Bargain!

Last time we were at the RAH we ate at Bill's.

I second Bills. Great for kids and not far to walk.

I love Stick & Bowl and have been going there for almost 30 years now!

Its a proper 'chinese greasy spoon' - fast, cheap, yummy and authentic chinese food. Definately the best non chain dining around there. I'm taking DS there this week when I get a day off.

Or for posher Chinese, Royal China on Queensway is about a 20min saunter through the park.

How far is Stick and Bowl from the AH? Sounds nice :)

Its about ten mins slow saunter - same side of the road, down towards high st ken. There's a strada, presso and wagamamas within sight too, just in case...
