Anyone been to Alton Towers Splash Landings?

We've just booked for a weekend at the end of February, which is very reasonable, I guess because the theme park isn't open for the season yet. Has anyone been, and if so what's it like? And how expensive is the food onsite, and is there anything else to do other than the pool?

DH is a little anxious about the shared family bedroom (we normally go to Center Parcs so are used to a separate living room)

The DCs are 5 and 7.

we stayed in the room sleeping 5 and it was very small - not as big as a Travelodge room. the theme park was partly open so we did have a day in there. the swimming pool was great fun but not sure it is more than half a days worth. we found the food good as there was lots of help yourself buffets. not gourmet but not swimming in grease either.
