Liverpool restaurants

I'm going to have a couple of nights in Liverpool next week, could anyone recommend a restaurant, please? I've spotted Liverpool One Bridewell in a previous thread, but any other ideas would be welcome. Really not fussed about cuisine (though probably avoiding Indian, Chinese, pizza) or price, but would like to be within a 15 minute walk of the hotel (Adelphi, Ranelagh Place).

Thanks.

Don't know about restaurants but there are some nice cafes for breakfast or lunch on (I think) Bond Street.

Bills in Liverpool one is fantastic, there is a great variety of fairly common high street restaurants on the upper floor of Liverpool one also.

There's a huge selection of pubs (4/5 wetherspoons in the town centre!) that serve food as well as Independant places which are lovely. Have a wander round, there's not many places I know (ironically apart from the Adelphi-sorry!) that I'd tell you to actively avoid!

Have a great few days, I don't live in Liverpool anymore but love going back to visit :)

Is there a "feel" you want as in that area, you could access posh/student/cheapo step up from McDonalds quite easily.

Decent restaurants close to there are Pushca, 60 Hope Street, and the Carriageworks. Head for Hope St area by Cathedrals.

Studenty there is Tribeca (pizza), Host (Asian fusion), and the Everyman Bistro.

You could also head down to Duke St for il forno (Italian) and Sapporo (japenese, cooked in front of you) as well as a few others.

Just thinking of some more - the quarter is great for lunch.

Actually you're not far from Hanover Street there either. The Hanover Street Social is nice (and pretty reasonable) and there's SLDD a South American meaty place near there (can't remember its name - might actually be called Meat).

If you're into burgers, get yourself to Almost Famous.
Salt house tapas good too.
Off Hanover street, on the way to Liverpool one, there's a place called Lunya which is amazing.

Do give the Everyman Bistro a try, the new building has just won The Stirling Prize so worth a visit.

If you fancy afternoon tea try the University Victoria building gallery, just up Brownlow Hill from your hotel.

Crikey, I wasn't expecting such a response, thank you all so much. I've always wanted to go to Liverpool, I'm really looking forward to a couple of days exploring.

Thanks again all, it's much appreciated.

The Clove Hitch on Hope St is fab - it's just by the Everyman Theatre. Also The Quarter on Faulkner St.
