I booked a cottage in Tenby in August with no parking. Will this be a disaster

Back in January, I blithely booked us a cottage in Tenby with no parking for the summer holidays and now I'm panicking that we won't find anywhere to park. I've heard there's a multi-storey with weekly tickets, but am wondering if it will be a Lord of the Flies style battle for spaces (which I won't win as I struggle with conflict). We were thinking of going first thing Sunday morning to avoid the Saturday traffic but I'm also worried that all the weekly parking spaces go on a Saturday. I may be over-thinking this, but any tips would be much appreciated Smile

We realised after we had booked an apartment in Tenby that we had no parking. We ended up parking in the large car park near the hospital. We had to get up early every morning to feed the pay and display meter though.

Our apartment was on The Croft just above the north beach. Tenby is lovely, but I will admit that parking was a bit of a problem. Apparently they make the whole of the town centre car free during the summer holidays. I would aim to get to Tenby towards the back end of the day when the day-trippers are leaving to maximise your chances of finding somewhere to park.

Have a lovely holiday.

You can normally get parked somewhere and walk a bit. Whereabouts is the cottage, which road and I might be able to suggest some streets for parking?

Where in Tenby is it? Is it in the old town?

The parking was only a bit of an issue for us when we arrived and when we were leaving because we had a lot of luggage to unload/load up - and the early morning paying for parking.

Also try parkatmydrive.com and similar sites.

Thanks all. It's Lower Frog Street. I'm very happy to park a distance away and walk back, so long as I can park somewhere. I've tried a couple of parkatmydrive type sites but couldn't see anything in Tenby.

There is a multi storey by Sainsburys that we always use as it is 40p for 2hrs or something and always plenty of spaces on the top level, even in the summer. Not too far from your accomodation if it's not raining but you would prob need to unload on arrival by where you are staying as it would be too far with lots of bags.

Very jealous by the way. Totally love Pembrokeshire.

We've just come back from Tenby today. It's somewhere we've holidayed a lot in recent years. We've always used the multi-storey by Sainsburys (£2 for 24 hours) and have never had a problem.

We stayed on Lower Frog Street last year, great for Fecci's fish & chips.

Have a fab holiday.

I live in Pembrokeshire .
Anyway, I agree if you are in Lower Frog St then the multi storey is probably the easiest.

Fantastic, thanks all, that's really reassuring - and good to know about the fish and chips Smile
