Any Snowdonia hotel recommendations?

DH and I booked one night in an inn near Dolgellau for next weekend, hoping to have a couple of days peace and quiet. They've called to say there's going to be a car rally passing right by them between 1am and 3am on the night we're there and that it will be very disturbing. We really wanted a peaceful break so are quickly trying to find somewhere different but I'm getting a bit bogged down in walkers' hostels and guesthouses.

We want somewhere with a restaurant for an evening meal or within walking distance of restaurants/pubs, definitely a hotel rather than a hostel. We've never stayed in a B&B, and don't know if we'd like the feeling of staying in a stranger's home if that makes sense (although would be willing to try on a recommendation). A decent pub with modern rooms would be ideal. It doesn't have to be flashy, but clean and modern at least.

No strict budget, and location not very important, either mountain or coast would be fine. A bit of walking, some decent food and drink and gazing into each others bloodshot eyes is all was have planned.

In Dolgellau, there's Y Meirionnydd. Just outside is the George 3rd at penmaenpool.

Hotel also at tal t llyn.

Not sure what any if those are like - I'd probably go for y Meirionnydd.

Thank you, that's given me something to look at. Just hope the rally isn't passing every hotel in Snowdonia!

If its not too late then the pyg hotel is gorgeous. Mlovely village, nice food, great beer, comfy sofas and roaring fires. Nice walks. Not modern though.
