Anyone found a nice hotel with good family rooms around Manchester/Birmingham/anywhere not too far from the M6?
We're driving to Cornwall from Glasgow at end of June and want to break the 10-hour car journey with a two-night stop half-way (ish). No preference of destination as long as it's kind of middle of the country! And West (ish) as we're driving down the West side.

Need family room for me, husband, two-and-a-half year old and one-year old. Sooooooo many hotels saying no availability for family rooms.

Ideally want 4/5 star. Help!

Have you thought of a slight detour?
I would go to North Wales on the way, like a cheaper two centre holiday?
OK its another 90 mins out of your way buy lots of nice places to see.

Liverpool is also good, lots of water sports, beaches parks etc and loads of travel lodge type places too
Dare I mention Blackpool! its not my cup of tea but every one has to go once.
If its just for a sleep St.Helens is about 90 miles before Birmingham very little traffic in the morning too, local areas have shops McD etc
This is 15 mins from the M6 Junction 21A, motorway all the way, it has a nice pool and rooms, called the Village Liverpool but its 20 mins away from the city.

Or this 10 mins from the M6 Junction 23 I think, 60MPH dual carriage way

15 mins from Junction23 of the M6

Nice food quiet location but only mins to a fast road for the motorway

Thanks Zumo and Clayhead - that's a huge help. I hadn't thought of Liverpool and that De Vere Village hotel looks really nice. 20mins out of the city would suit us fine - we can drive in for a bit of exploring during the day. Thanks so much for your help. If you need any recommendations in Scotland I'm happy to help!

The Moat House Acton Trussell. 5mins from Junction 13. It's lovely Smile. Great food v friendly. Canal, duck ponds, gardens etc.

Staffs is an undervalued county IMO. Lots and lots to see and do.

The Park Royal hotel near Warrington (Cheshire) is close to the M6, Has swimming pool and leisure facilities and is close to Applejacks farm and Chester zoo for days out.

Sorry for lack of link, we have some stupid virus at the mo.
